Good beer takes time.
Our focus has always been on slow, traditional Belgian methods, natural ingredients and beers that belong on the table beside great food. Every so often, that quiet dedication is recognised and our bottles bring home a little extra shine.
Brewing for Flavour First, Awards Second
We did not set out to build a medal cabinet. We set out to create beers with depth, balance and character, using Belgian brewing traditions and the pure spring water of West Mayo. Our beers take months rather than weeks to mature, are vegan friendly, unfiltered and unpasteurised, and are designed to shine alongside food.
When those choices are rewarded on the judging table, it feels like a nod to everything that happens quietly behind the scenes, from recipe design to patient ageing. The awards below are a snapshot of recent recognition for some of our core beers.

Blas na hÉireann Gold 2025:
Westport Blond
Brewed slow in the shadow of Croagh Patrick, Westport Blond is our Irish homage to classic Belgian blond ales. A golden pour with gentle notes of ripe fruit, flowers and biscuit, it is crisp, clean and endlessly drinkable, with just enough hop bitterness to keep you coming back for another sip.
This Gold award recognises exactly what we love about Westport Blond, its easy balance, its versatility at the table and its ability to make even simple dishes feel like a small occasion. From grilled meats to salads and pasta, it is the beer we recommend when you want one bottle that keeps everyone happy.

Blas na hÉireann Gold 2024:
Seven Virtues Lager
Seven Virtues Lager began life as a one off experiment. It quickly became a firm favourite and a permanent member of the Mescan family. Bright, refreshing and delicately dry hopped, it brings together a clean malt backbone with subtle citrus notes and a crisp finish.
Awarded Gold in 2024, this lager was recognised for doing something deceptively difficult, being both characterful and incredibly easy to drink. It is as comfortable beside a bowl of mussels and chips as it is with burgers off the barbecue, making it a go to choice for long evenings, shared plates and easy company.
