Whether you’re driving from Dublin, flying in from abroad, or taking the scenic route by train, we’ve gathered all the transport options to help you reach us in the beautiful Mayo countryside. Choose your preferred method below to find detailed directions and travel tips for your journey to Mescan Brewery.
Directions by Car
From Dublin (3 hours)
Take the M4 westbound toward Galway, then follow the N5 through Longford and Castlebar. Take the N5/N60 toward Westport, then follow local signs to Kilsallagh. We’re approximately 10 minutes from Westport town center.
From Cork (2.5 hours)
Take the N20 north to Mallow, then the N72 to Killarney. Follow the N71 to Kenmare, then the N70 around the Ring of Kerry to Kilgarvan. Take the N22 to Killarney, then N72 to Mallow and N20 to Charleville. From there, take the N21 to Newcastle West, then N69 to Listowel and N23 to Castleisland.
From Belfast (3.5 hours)
Take the M1 south to Dublin, then follow Dublin directions above. Alternatively, take the A4 west through Enniskillen, cross into the Republic at Belleek, and follow the N3 south to N5 west.
From Galway (1.5 hours)
Take the N17 north toward Tuam, then the N60 west through Castlebar to Westport. Follow local signs to Kilsallagh.

By Bus
Bus Éireann operates regular services to Westport from Dublin, Cork, and other major cities. From Westport bus station, Mescan Brewery is approximately 10 minutes by taxi.
Dublin to Westport: Direct services available daily (journey time: approximately 4 hours)
Cork to Westport: Direct services available (journey time: approximately 3 hours)
By Train
Irish Rail operates services to Westport station from Dublin Heuston. The journey takes approximately 3 hours with beautiful scenery along the way. From Westport train station, the brewery is 10 minutes by taxi.

Airport Connections
Knock Airport (45 minutes)
The closest airport to Mescan Brewery, Ireland West Airport Knock offers flights from the UK and European destinations. Car rental is available at the airport, or you can arrange a taxi (approximately €60-80).
Dublin Airport (3 hours)
Ireland’s busiest airport with worldwide connections. You can rent a car, take the Aircoach to Westport, or fly to Cork and connect via bus.
Cork Airport (3 hours)
Southern Ireland’s main airport. Car rental available, or connect via Cork city to bus services to Westport.
