Mescan ‘Flood’ T Shirt – black loose-fit 100% organic cotton

We have reprinted our popular black ‘Flood’ T shirts with original artwork by renowned local artist Des Downes on really high quality, heavy-weight, 100% organic cotton. The image depicts a re-imagined scene taken from a Medieval woodcut of the Great Flood. In Des’ version, the brewery’s two founders, having given up their careers as vets, are reaching out from their boat to pluck beer barrels from the swirling waters of the streets of Westport, and leaving the animals to swim for themselves. Underneath is written, GO RAIBH MESCAN AGAT – may you have Mescan.

The brewery motto in the stamp on the back of the T has been updated and is now in Irish rather than the original Latin. Thanks to our friends in Gnó Maigh Eo for their assistance with this. The motto is, ULLAMH AGUS ÁBALTA – Willing and Able.

Each T-shirt is individually screen-printed by hand in Westport by Print Addiction, who are part of an Ethical Buyers’ Group for sustainably and fairly sourced fabrics. The group carries out its own independent assessments.
